After the C. Blanca, we decided to hightail it up to Ecuador. We had not planned on Ecuador. Nor had we planned on the 52 hours it took us to bus up there. We saw some great coastline, some boring desert, caught up on our journals, finished 3 books (Kori 2, Brent 1), watched 7 movies in with Spanish subtitles and lost the ipod along the way. BUT (and you Kansan´s will be excited for this) I had the best pork sandwich in S. America at the Guayaquil bus terminal. Where is Guayaquil? Its the largest city in Ecuador, built around a bus terminal that serves the best pork sandwich in S. America. Mark me down for one for Dinner, one for Breakfast and one to go on the bus for lunch. You might freak out too if you´d been eating stale white bread, yogurt and rice for most of your meals. We actually eat very well, but I will never forget that sandwich.
Once in Ecuador, we went to the town of Riobamba to climb a volcano called Chimborazo. We will post details of this climb on the climbing blog. From Chimborazo, we went to a town called Banos
