Burmese Market Day

Beheadings galore! We stumbled upon a rotating market one day in Burma on the way to morning coffee. So Kori had to earn her cup this morning, walking past a series of stalls slaughtering chickens, eels, and riverfish. New meaning to 'the fresh part of waking up". The smells of carnage mingling with thousands of mango's and flowers in other stalls made every breath a gamble. The sight of monks mingling with farmers and locals was something else. Even more, all of the products for sale were local. They have to be because nearly every country in the world holds an embargo against Burma--they are really on their own.

Here are a few photo's from the market in Kalaw, a town in central Myanmar (Burma).
