About this time last year, Kori and I arrived in Italy thrilled to be back to the order and ease of Europe after a stretch on the Indian subcontinent. We spent our one day in Milan wandering through the city, looking through windows at clothes we couldn't afford and inhaling wafts of food we could only dream of eating. Northern Italy is quite chilly in December so along the way we ducked into a church. Many people were filing in and as we entered we learned why...
The church orchestra and chamber were putting on a show. By happenstance we were able to grab a seat and witness what may be some of the most remarkable singing we have heard. I broke protocol (sorry JC) and took a short video of the performance with a point and shoot from the hip. Even more amazing than the performance itself is that the singers were local churchgoers and this was their neighborhood parish.
