For the past two weeks we´ve been working our way north from Patagonia to Santiago, with stops in and out of the mountians. Some highlights...
Villarica Volcano, south of Santiago de Chile (taken from truck window...this is the only time the mountain wasn´t covered in clouds).
Climbing Villarica Volcano: This was a pretty easy climb up an active volcano. Active meaning that it spews a hot air balloon full of Sulphur Dioxide out every couple minutes. Kori managed to wear most of her warm weather gear and ended up looking something like the little brother in ¨A Christmas Story¨. She still said she was freezing...
Smoke pillowing from Villarica Volcano. The ridge on the far side is the opposite side of the caldera. Didn´t see any magma, but it was definitely wild to see glacier meeting smoke.
