Herders along trail
Our 'Scout', Bante Hoon (we called him Ban Kee Moon)
We bought this guy for dinner one afternoon and learned a valuable lesson: chickens who eat trash, taste like trash
Bleeding Heart Baboons in camp
Bante & Kori checking out the view of the Simiens. The next picture was taken from the 3rd cliff from the left.
Airy views
The trail walked alongside these escarpments throughout the day. It was something like putting El Cap in the middle of the Grand Canyon and mixing in armed villagers (protecting us...from what we never found out..) and Baboons.
Herd of goats passing the sunset

Hut where scouts and guides stay in a campsite.
Villager along the way
We have a lot more interesting pictures that we'll post as soon as we can including stories of the raw beef wedding and the five day journey from Ethiopia to Kenya. We are at the mouth of the Nile in Uganda now preparing for whitewater. We are hanging out with two Australian couples and yesterday when we went to ask locals about swimming in the Nile below camp they said, "Go ahead, there are two crocs but we think they live upstream now". Sweet.
Thanks for checking in, more soon,
Brent
