Crab Juice and a quick pic...

Written March 14th

We are about to reenter the atmosphere...we have spotted grocery stores and there are rumors of full time electricity ahead. We hear connectivity in Swaziland and further south is great.

Yesterday, we did a 12 hour bus leg down the coast of Mozambique. The bus smelled awful, but all buses in Africa do. Baby poo, chicken feathers, sweat. But not this time, this time it was spoiled fish. We pull up to a break in the midday sun and jump off the bus for fresh air. We see a crab (large, like a Dungeness) crawling around under the bus. The bus driver picks it up, opens the luggage hatch we see that a 100 lb basket of crabs had tipped over in the underbelly where luggage is stored. We arrive in the capital, wait for the conductor to catch the dozens of rogue crabs and pull out our luggage. My bag had been soaking in rotten crab juice under the bus throughout the day. The juice soaked through my pack cover and into my pack, both sleeping bags, puff ball and everything in the bottom pocket. We showed up at our campsite and manager asked me if I had a dead fish in my pack. We recovered from the horse milk incident and we can recover from this.

We have tons of photo's to post and stories to tell...more very soon...
